Tumba
Swedish
Etymology
Named after a mill Tumbokvarn (Old Swedish Tumboqwern), a contraction meaning "Tumba's mill," from the obsolete farm Tuna + kvarn (“mill”). The former could be related to the Scandinavian name Tonna, a pet form of Old Norse Þórný, from the root of Þórr (“Thor”) + nýr (“new”).
