Marille
German
Etymology
Borrowed from Italian armellino. Do not confuse with the nightshade Morelle and the cherry Morelle (“morello”), Schattenmorelle, which have been mixed up in dialects; an older form of this Marille word Ammarelle meant a kind of cherry.
