Suffix

-oanje f

  1. used to form a feminine noun equivalent, such as that of a profession, or the wife of a male with a certain profession (e.g. piscar (fisher(man)) + -oanjepiscãroanje (woman that fishes or fisherman's wife))
  2. used to form the feminine of some animals, often with an augmentative effect (e.g. ursã (bear) + -oanjeursoanje ((large) she-bear))
