π ππ
Luwian
Etymology
Per Kloekhorst, from Proto-Anatolian *mΓ³n or similar; cognate with Lycian ππ (mαΊ½, βas; so, likewiseβ), Hittite π ππ (ma-a-an /β mΔnβ /, βlike, as, how; if, wheneverβ) and Palaic π ππ (ma-a-an /β mΔnβ /, βwhenβ). The Proto-Anatolian word is of uncertain but probably Proto-Indo-European origin: further compare Old Irish mΓ‘ (βwhenβ), Tocharian A mΓ€nt (βhow?β), Tocharian B mant (βsoβ, conj.) and perhaps Ancient Greek ΞΌΞΞ½ (mΓ©n, βwhile, soβ).
