생각

First attested in the Neung'eomgyeong eonhae (楞嚴經諺解 / 능엄경언해), 1461, as Middle Korean ᄉᆡᇰ〮각〮 (Yale: sóyngkák). The term has the shape of a Sino-Korean word, but the etymological origin is ultimately unclear. The hanja spellings of 生覺 and 省覺 are unetymological.

Syllables in red take high pitch. This word always takes high pitch on both syllables, and lowers the pitch of subsequent suffixes.
