リモート
Japanese
Noun
リモート • (rimōto)
Usage notes
This term is generally used in compounds, such as リモートスイッチ (“remote switch”) or リモートコントロール (“remote control”), or in technical contexts, such as リモートのホスト (rimōto no hosuto, “remote host”) or ローカルとリモートの差 (rōkaru to rimōto no sa, “difference between the local and remote [hosts]”). When used attributively, リモート can be followed by the attributive particle な (na) as a regular na-type adjective, but the more common pattern is to add the possessive particle の (no) as is normal after nouns.
