  1. (IPA) Marks a short sound.
    Length marking is short ⟨ă⟩, default ⟨a⟩, half-long ⟨aˑ⟩, long ⟨aː⟩, over-long ⟨aːː⟩.
    With a consonant, may be used to indicate a tap: e.g. ⟨ɢ̆ ʡ̆ ʎ̆ ʟ̆ n̆⟩.
