Cognate with Thai เงิน (ngən), Northern Thai ᨦᩮᩥ᩠ᨶ, Lü ᦇᦹᧃ (nguen), Tai Dam ꪹꪉꪷꪙ, Shan ငိုၼ်း (ngúen), Tai Nüa ᥒᥫᥢᥰ (ngöen), Phake ငိုꩫ် (ṅün), Ahom 𑜂𑜢𑜤𑜃𑜫 (ṅün), Zhuang ngaenz, Saek แญ๊น.
