Etymology
From Pali devarūpa, from deva (“divine”) + rūpa (“form; figure”), or from Sanskrit देवरूपा (devarūpā), from देव (deva, “divine”) + रूप (rūpa, “form; figure”), equivalent to Thai เทว (teeo) + รูป (rûup). Cognate with Modern Khmer ទេវរូប (teiwruup).
