From Pali duccarita (literally “bad action; bad act; bad deed; etc”), fron du (“bad; ill”) + carita (“action; act; deed; etc”); equivalent to Thai ทุ (tú) + จริต (jà-rìt). Cognate with Khmer ទុច្ចរិត (tuccaʼrət), Lao ທຸຈະລິດ (thu cha lit).
