Etymology
Borrowed from Telugu తెలుంగు (teluṅgu), an older form of తెలుగు (telugu), itself probably from Proto-Dravidian *teṉ (“south”). Compare Tamil தெலுங்கு (teluṅku). Doublet of തെലുഗു (telugu), a later borrowing.
