Etymology

Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘢𑘰𑘎𑘳𑘯𑘲 (pākuḷī) (compare 𑘢𑘽𑘎𑘻𑘯𑘲𑘎𑘰 (paṃkoḷīkā)), from a derivative of Sanskrit पक्ष्मन् (pákṣman). Compare Gujarati પાંખડી (pā̃khḍī), Hindustani پَن٘کُھڑِی (paṅkhuṛī) / पंखुड़ी (paṅkhuṛī).
