Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘢𑘭𑘰𑘨𑘰 (pasārā), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀧𑀲𑀸𑀭 (pasāra), from Sanskrit प्रसार (prasāra). Related to पसरणे (pasarṇe). Doublet of प्रसार (prasār).
