Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *tetḱ- (“to create; cut”). Cognate with Latin texō (“weave”) whence English text, textile; Ancient Greek τέχνη (tékhnē) whence English techno-, and Serbo-Croatian те̏сла (tesla, “adze”).

वस्त्रे॑व भ॒द्रा सुकृ॑ता वसू॒यू रथं॒ न धीरः॒ स्वपा॑ अतक्षम् ॥- índra bráhma kriyámāṇā juṣasva yā́ te śaviṣṭha návyā ákarma.
vástreva bhadrā́ súkṛtā vasūyū́ ráthaṃ ná dhī́raḥ svápā atakṣam. - O, mighty Indra, accept the prayers which we are about to offer, and the present praises which we repeat; firm, doing pious acts, and desirous of wealth; I have made acceptable and pious works like rich garments, and chariots.
