1. route, course; itinerary

   مسیر سپاه ― masir-e sepâh ― course of the army

   سریع‌ترین مسیر سفر با مترو و اتوبوس

   sari'-tarin masir-e safar bâ metrow o owtowbus

   the fastest travel route by subway and bus

2. (obsolete, astronomy) linear celestial motion

     اجرام فلک را به هوای تو مسیر است
     زیرا که فلک را به مدار تو مدارست

     ajrām-i falak rā ba hawā-yi tu masīr ast
     zērā ki falak rā ba madār-i tu madār-ast

     The celestial bodies have motion because of your passions,
     For the heavens themselves are in orbit because of your high station.
