Etymology

Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kömür (coal); cognate with Azerbaijani kömür, Bashkir күмер (kümer), Chuvash кӑмрӑк (kămrăk), Kazakh көмір (kömır), Kyrgyz көмүр (kömür), Turkmen kömür, Uyghur كۆمۈر (kömür) and Uzbek koʻmir.
