  ز آنکه بی‏گل‏زار بلبل خامش است
  غیبت خورشید بیداری کش است‏
  za ānki bē-gulzār bulbul xāmuš ast
  ğaybat-i xwarshēd bēdārī kuš ast
  Because the nightingale is silent without the rose-garden:
  the absence of the sun kills (the nightingale's) wakefulness.
