Etymology
From Middle Persian, passed into Arabic بُسْتُوق (bustūq), بُسْتُوقَة (bustūqa) and Classical Syriac ܒܣܬܐ (bastā), ܒܣܬܩܐ (bastaqā), ܒܣܬܘܩܐ (bastūqā), ܒܣܬܘܩܝܐ (bastūqiyā), ܦܣܬܘܩܐ (pastūqā, “bottle or tankard”).
