Related to synonymous խորգ (xorg) and to Classical Syriac ܟܽܘܪܣܬܴܐ (kūrsəṯā), ܟܽܘܪܣܴܐ (kūrsā), ܟܽܘܪܙܴܐ (kūrzā), ܟܽܘܪܓܴܐ (kūrgā, small bag), Arabic خُرْج (ḵurj, saddlebag), كُرْز (kurz, bag of a herdsman), and easily with Middle Armenian քուրջ (kʻurǰ, old rag), كُرَاز (kurāz, cantharus), Old Armenian կարաս (karas, large jar) from Iranian.
