Related to synonymous խորգ (xorg) and to Classical Syriac ܟܽܘܪܣܬܴܐ (kūrsəṯā), ܟܽܘܪܣܴܐ (kūrsā), ܟܽܘܪܙܴܐ (kūrzā), ܟܽܘܪܓܴܐ (kūrgā, “small bag”), Arabic خُرْج (ḵurj, “saddlebag”), كُرْز (kurz, “bag of a herdsman”), and easily with Middle Armenian քուրջ (kʻurǰ, “old rag”), كُرَاز (kurāz, “cantharus”), Old Armenian կարաս (karas, “large jar”) from Iranian.
