An Iranian borrowing: compare Avestan 𐬫𐬀𐬎𐬎𐬀𐬈-𐬘𐬍- (yauuae-jī-, “living forever”).[1][2][3] Ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *h₂óyu and *gʷeyh₃-.
