արբեկ

Old Armenian

Etymology

Ačaṙyan leaves the origin open and does not record any attempts on etymology. According to J̌ahukyan, if reliable it may go back to Proto-Indo-European *h₂(e)bʰro- (strong, mighty), whence արբուն (arbun), + -եկ (-ek), post-classical form of -եակ (-eak).

Adjective

արբեկ • (arbek)

  1. very, much

Usage notes

A hapax attested only in Baṙgirkʻ hayocʻ, it may be unreliable.
