From Proto-Turkic *sat- (“to sell”).[1]
Cognate with Kazakh сату (satu, “to sell”), Kyrgyz сатуу (satuu, “to sell”), Khakas садарға (sadarğa, “to sell”), Turkish satmak (“to sell”), Tuvan садар (sadar, “to sell”), Uzbek sotmoq (“to sell”), Yakut атыы (atıı, “commerce, trade”).
