Etymology
From Proto-Turkic *kod- (“to put”). Cognate with Old Uyghur [script needed] (qod-, “to put, place”);[1] Kazakh қою (qoü), Southern Altai койор (koyor),Uzbek qoʻymoq, Turkish koymak, Azerbaijani qoymaq, Chuvash хур (hur, “to put, place”).
