Etymology

Inherited from Proto-Slavic *trošiti (to crumble), with no exact synonyms in other Slavic languages. Morphologically identical to Macedonian троши (troši, to deplete), Serbo-Croatian тро̀шити (to spend), Russian потроши́ть (potrošítʹ, to paunch).
