Learnedly, from Hellenistic Koine Greek ψυχαγωγία (psukhagōgía), from Ancient Greek ψῡχᾰγωγῐ́ᾱ (psūkhagōgíā, “evocation of the dead souls”),[1] from ψῡχᾰγωγός (psūkhagōgós, “one who leads the dead souls”).
