στρεβλός

Ancient Greek

Etymology

Maybe from Proto-Indo-European *strebʰ-, the same root of στρέφω (stréphō, to twist). However, due to the connection with words like στρόβιλος (stróbilos, fir-cone), στρόμβος (strómbos, spinning top), Beekes suggests a Pre-Greek origin.
