καφουρά
Ancient Greek
Alternative forms
- καφούρα (kaphoúra)
Etymology
From Arabic كَافُور (kāfūr), via an Austronesian language such as Malay kapur from Sanskrit कर्पूर (karpūra). It is possible that the Sanskrit term was borrowed from Malay rather than vice versa.
