  • This verb can only be construed with an indirect object, either introduced by the preposition σε (se) or, continuing ancient usage, with a morphological genitive:[1]
    Ο Στέφανος ηγείται στην προσπάθεια για την ανανέωση του κόμματος. (periphrastic construction)
    O Stéfanos igeítai stin prospátheia gia tin ananéosi tou kómmatos.
    Stefanos is leading the effort to renew the party.
