Xylocarpus moluccensis is a tree in the family Meliaceae. It is named for the Moluccas archipelago (now Maluku Islands).[3]
Description
Xylocarpus moluccensis grows up to 30 metres (100 ft) tall with a trunk diameter of up to 70 centimetres (28 in). The flowers are creamy-white. The roundish fruits measure up to 11 cm (4 in) in diameter.[3]
Distribution and habitat
Xylocarpus moluccensis grows naturally from the Sundarbans of India and Bangladesh through Mainland Southeast Asia and Malesia to tropical Australia.[1][3] Its habitat is mangrove swamps.[3]
