UmaSofia Srivastava (born June 5, 2007) is an American author and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Teen USA 2023.[1][2] She had previously been crowned Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2023. She is the first entrant from New Jersey to have been crowned Miss Teen USA.[3][4][5][6]

Early life and education

Srivastava was born and raised in Morris Plains, New Jersey to an Indian father and a Mexican mother. She is passionate about reading literacy for children and has volunteered for different organizations throughout New Jersey. In 2023, she illustrated and published her book titled The White Jaguar. The book sought to teach children about accepting differences and embracing diversity.

Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2023

Srivastava won Miss New Jersey Teen USA 2023 and was crowned by outgoing titleholder Isabella Galan.

Miss Teen USA 2023

After winning Miss New Jersey Teen USA, she represented New Jersey at Miss Teen USA 2023 in a nationally televised competition in Reno, Nevada and was crowned as the winner on September 28, 2023. She became the first titleholder of Indian-Mexican descent and the second consecutive titleholder of Indian descent after Faron Medhi in 2022.
