Tamandan (Persian: تمندان, also Romanized as Tamandān)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Taftan-e Jonubi Rural District of the Central District of Taftan County, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 532 in 136 households, when it was in the former Nukabad District of Khash County.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 455 people in 111 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 272 people in 84 households.[2]

In 2018, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Taftan County, which was divided into three districts of two rural districts each, with Nukabad as its capital and only city.[7]
