Saint-Jean-sur-Couesnon (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ ʒɑ̃ syʁ kwenɔ̃], literally Saint-Jean on Couesnon; Breton: Sant-Yann-ar-C'houenon) is a former commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in Brittany in northwestern France. On 1 January 2019, it was merged into the new commune Rives-du-Couesnon.[2]

Geography

Saint-Jean-sur-Couesnon is located 33 km (21 mi) northeast of Rennes and 45 km (28 mi) south of Mont Saint-Michel.

The neighboring communes are Saint-Marc-sur-Couesnon, La Chapelle-Saint-Aubert, Vendel, Saint-Georges-de-Chesné, Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier, and Mézières-sur-Couesnon.
