Poe (Platform for Open Exploration) is a service developed by Quora and launched in December 2022. It allows users to ask questions and obtain answers from a range of AI bots built on top of large language models (LLMs), including those from ChatGPT developer OpenAI, and other companies like Anthropic. It also has a subscription which allows users unlimited use of lightweight chatbot applications such as GPT-3.5, and provides access, with certain limitations, to more advanced artificial intelligence models such as GPT-4 and Claude 2.

History

Poe was first launched on iOS on December 21, 2022, in the form of a text messaging app which allows users to chat with the bots separately.[1] It was invite-only at the time, before it was opened to the public on February 4, 2023.[2] It was made available to desktop browsers on March 4, 2023.[3]
