Patrick Schickerling (born 16 October 1998) is a Namibian rugby union player who plays for Exeter Chiefs in the Premiership.[1][2]

Club career

He featured for the Pumas in the under-20 Currie Cup.[3] He was scouted by Exeter after the 2018 World Rugby U20 Trophy.[4] Making his debut for the side in the 2019 Premiership Rugby Cup coming off the bench in a loss against Harlequins.[5]

He spent time on loan at Chinnor R.F.C. and Guernsey RFC, as well as at Championship side Cornish Pirates where impressive performances saw him get recalled back to Exeter.[6][7][8] Featuring 17 times and scoring 5 tries for the Devon based outfit he was called up by Eddie Jones' England for an uncapped test match against the Barbarians.

International career

He played for Namibia under-18 at the 2016 Craven schools week.[9] He featured in two World Rugby U20 Trophy competitions featuring 8 times scoring 3 tries.[10][11]

He was called up to Eddie Jones' England for an uncapped test match against the Barbarians, he came off the bench in the 21-52 loss.[12] He was named in the squad for the 2022 England rugby union tour of Australia, however did not feature.[13]

It was later revealed he was ineligible for England originally thought to qualify for England under residency however while in the country the rule was revised from 3 years to 5 years.[14]
