Namak Haram is a 2023 Pakistani thriller drama television series directed by Shaqielle Khan and produced by Momina Duraid.[2] It stars Imran Ashraf and Sarah Khan[3] as lead in their second on-screen appearance, with Babar Ali and Sunita Marshall in supporting roles.[4][5]
Premise
Namak Haram revolves around the Mureed, the main character, gets caught up in a plot against the powerful Qureshi family. Amin Qureshi's quest for power goes too far, affecting both locals and servants. Driven by a grudge, Mureed is determined to right past wrongs. The story unfolds with loyalty and rising tension, showing Mureed's journey after a life-changing tragedy. The drama explores family dynamics, revealing hidden truths that cause resentment. Past and present events collide, creating a tale of loyalty tested by growing bitterness.

Production
The series marked the second collaboration of Khan and Ashraf after Raqs-e-Bismil. In July, it confirmed that the couple will appear in a Hum TV's production.[9] The teasers of the series were released in mid October.[10][11] The first episode broadcast on 3 November 2023 on Hum TV.
