Moses Maihankali (born 30 May 1965) was a dedication Civil Servant who served on different capacities; head of service in different LGAs[1] and was transferred to Kurmi as Head of Service where he retired and joined politics. He is the Executive Chairman of Kurmi LGA, Taraba State.[2]

Early Life and Education

In the ancient village of Tolori, Moses Maihankali was born into the simple and pleasant family of Mr Maihankali of Baissa ward. He grew up and was loved and admired by many because of his commitment to service, respect for elders and desire for hardwork, as well as his determination to succeed against all odds. Like other children of his age, Mr Moses Maihankali was enrolled into the then EKAS primary school Baissa,[3] now Central Primary School and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He went through Government Secondary School, Gembu, Sardauna LGA where he obtained his GCE O/Level and because of his leadership skills, he served Head Boy during his time.

In order to widen his frontier of knowledge and his intellectual horizon, he proceeded to College of Agriculture, Jalingo and Imo State  Agric college where he obtained National Diploma and HND respectively and there thereafter deployed to Rivers State for the mandatory NYSC. The quest for more knowledge saw him again in the University of Calabar, Modibo Adama Federal University of Technology and the National Open University of Nigeria where he bagged  his  PGDM, MBA and LLB accordingly.[4]

Political career

Moses has continuously offered his shrewdness and skills in the service of the nation in Government service, worked and retired from Local Govt Service Commission in the position of Head of Service to Local Government (HOLGA ) before joining politics.[5]

On 18 November 2023, Hon Moses Maihankali was elected Chairman Kurmi LGA by the good people of Kurmi.[6][7]

Personal life

Moses Maihankali is happily married with blessed children.[8]
