Mercedes Pomares (born 9 April 1954) is a Cuban former volleyball player and three-time Olympian. She competed with the Cuban women's national volleyball team at the 1972, the 1976, and the 1980 Summer Olympics.[1] In 1978, Pomares was part of the Cuban national team that won the FIVB World Championship.[2]
Pomares also won gold medals with the Cuban team at the 1971, 1975, 1979, and 1983 Pan American Games.[3]
Personal life
Pomares enjoys listening to the music of Bob Marley.[2]
