The 1997 Irving mayoral election was held on May 3, 1997. Since no candidate had received more than 50% of the votes, a run-off election took place on May 17, 1997. It saw the reelection of Morris Parrish.

The 2017 Irving mayoral election was held on May 6, 2017. The incumbent mayor Beth Van Duyne did not seek reelection. Rick Stopfer, a member of the city council, was elected as the next mayor.[11]

The 2020 Irving mayoral election was held on November 3, 2020. It was originally scheduled to be held on May 2, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[13] The incumbent mayor won the reelection into a second term.[14]
