Lanu (Persian: لانو, also Romanized as Lānū and Lanoo; also known as Lāhnū)[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Lanu Rural District of Doreh District, Sarbisheh County, South Khorasan Province, Iran.[4]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 342 in 89 households, when it was in Doreh Rural District of the Central District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 404 people in 99 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 397 people in 113 households; it was the largest village in its rural district,[2] by which time the rural district had been separated from the district in the establishment of Doreh District.[4]
