Khushbo Mein Basay Khat (lit. 'Letters Embedded in Fragrance') is a Pakistani television series written by Amna Mufti and directed by Saqib Khan. It is produced by Momina Duraid under the banner of MD Productions. It stars Adnan Siddiqui, Nadia Jamil and Kinza Hashmi as leads. The series first aired on 28 November 2023 on Hum TV.[1]
Premise
Khushbo Mein Basay Khat depicts emotions, poetry, and infidelity, focusing on the complexities of human relationships. It revolves around a coquettish poet whose character’s tideway to life introduces easiness and juxtaposed in contrast to the struggle of his wife as a housewife and a surgeon.[2]

| Ahmed Zaryab, a flirty poet who spends all of his day in Alhamra Arts Council with his friends. He considers his job as the toughest and has no regards for her wife Adeela, a cardiac surgeon by profession and manages the house as well. Husna, belongs to a middle class family, gets admission in Urdu literature due to higher merit in other departments. For a mushaira conducted by her university, her teacher gives her the task to invite Ahmed Zaryab. When she goes to invite him, he stuns to see the same girl who didn't show interest in his newly launched book in the bookshop while he was there. | |||||

| Husna praises Ahmed Zaryab in front of Miss Tabinda who alerts her to be attentive. The next day, she comes across Ahmed Zaryab while going to university who picks her and offers to go for a mushaira with him. In the musharia, she reads his poetry and gets praised. Ahmed Zaryab gives her much attention which creates a rift between him and his beloved, Penny for whom he writes the poetry as well. Adeela tells him to attend the parent teacher meeting of their children but he forbids reacting furiously. | |||||

| Their relationship progresses as they start chatting on phone. Husna's mother Bilqees is worried about her marriage and starts looking for a good match for her. | She watches the film with Ahmed Zaryab. Penny complains him when comes to know about it as it was decided that she will watch the film with him. For the preparation of the mushaira, Husna tells Ahmed Zaryab to teach her comparing. He takes her shopping with him due to which she gets late and reaches her house in the evening. She brings Pervez with her in the house where her paternal aunt Chajo has also come. Adeela's mother tells her to keep an eye on her husband but she denies it stating that he remains busy in his work. | |||||

| Pervez saves her from her parents' scolding. She tells her parents that she's late as she had to buy a dress for comparing. Her mother gets angry when she reasons that she didn't not bring it here because she will dislike it, being a stepmother. Ahmed Zaryab fights with Adeela when she inquiries about the housework that he didn't do and spent money on his own. Husna casually refers Ahmed Zaryab as 'uncle' while talking with him. He gets angry on her and throws her out of his car. Due to her late arrival in the college, Miss Tabinda hands over the responsibilities of comparing to her friend Jahan Ara. | |||||

Production
In October 2023, it was reported that Kinza Hashmi will play a pivotal role alongside Adnan Siddiqui and Nadia Jamil in Momina Duraid's next.[3] Siddiqui chose the role after rejecting forty projects.[4]
