Journey to the West (西游记) is a Chinese Yuan dynasty zaju (opera). It is the longest opera work of the Yuan dynasty. It was discovered in the Japanese Cabinet Library in 1927, and the author is generally believed to be the late Yuan and early Ming dynasty writer Yang Jingxian. It consists of six volumes and twenty-four acts and is one of the sources for Wu Cheng'en's Journey to the West.[1][2][3]
