Jharkil is a village and one of the 45 Union Councils (administrative subdivisions) of Khushab District in the Punjab Province of Pakistan.[1] It is located at 31°48'0N 71°49'60E.[2]
Jharkil Union is consisted over several small villages named as Jharkil, Meikin, Jara, Nawan Saggu, Katimar, Sidha and Nikro Shaheed. Saggu, Jara, Khara, Chuhan, Aura, Bhati, Harral, Balooch,Lohaar, Ghahi & Dhoda are major casts in the Union. The people are very polite, hostile and simple. The education rate is increasing after 2010, however,there is not a single college for boys and girls in Union. The main sources of income are agriculture & animals farming. Volly ball & Kabadi are main sports of area. There are many famous local political, social and national Academic personalities of union Jharkil. Among these, Dr. Javed Iqbal Saggu is one the most educated personality of the area. He studied from world prestigious Universities: Quaid -I - Azan University, Tsinghua University and Cambridge University with high distinctions. He was senior demonstrator at Cambridge University United Kingdom. He is winner of Salam Gold medal for youngest scientist & also HEC best researcher award with credit of hundreds publications having highest citations. He remained as Chairman Hall Council, Resident Officer (RO) & Director (DSA) at QAU Islamabad. He is elected executive member of Pakistan Nuclear Society (PNS). He is currently working as a Professor of Physics and Director Human Resources Development (HRD) at Qauid I Azam University (QAU) Islamabad. He is well known national youngest socialist, scientist and educationist. This union is also credit of having a world most aged person named as Hakeem Hafiz Noor Muhammad Ghahi. He is still active in age of about 125 year. Malik Muhammad Waris Saggu, Malik Waqar Ull Hassan Saggu Adv, ,Noor Muhammad Saggu,Adv Aziz Hussain Jara, Haji Hayat Saggu, Dr. Nawab Din Kalaira, Gulzar Hussain Saggu, Rifaqat Naseer, Inaam Ullah, Shukat Jara, Nasser Saggu, Atta Hussain, Abdul Sattar Chuhan, Niamat Ghahi and Altaf Jara, Adv Akhtar Khara, Adv Niamt Saggu, Rauf Saggu, Subaydar Aslam Jara & Allah Bukhush Jara are local political and social personalities. This union council needs proper roads for inter village connectivity, high schools for girls in villages and technical college for boys.
