Jen Tullock (born July 4, 1983) is an American actress and writer. She is best known for her roles as Devon Scout-Hale in the Apple TV+ drama series Severance and Anita St. Pierre in the HBO period drama series Perry Mason. She is also known for starring in and co-writing 2019 comedy drama film Before You Know It.

Early life

Tullock was born on July 4, 1983, in Louisville, Kentucky.[1][2] Her father had been a police officer, then a security guard. Her mother was a Christian recording artist. She has a younger brother, Ryan, a professional musician and composer in Nashville, and the bass player in the indie band Tennis.[3] She grew up in Jeffersontown and Crescent Hill. She attended Christian Academy of Louisville however for her final year of school she attended Eastern High School.[4] After graduating high school, she studied at Millikin University and graduated in 2006 with a BFA in Acting.[5]

Career

Tullock moved to Brooklyn in 2007 where she worked as a theatre actress and writer. She also practiced improv, performed one-woman shows, did voice-over work, and commercials.[3] She performed in plays in Chicago and New York, including the world premiere of Frank Winter's On the Head of a Pin at 59E59 St. Theatre.[6]

Tullock's comedy series Disengaged was shown on Super Deluxe. She wrote and performed in her short film Partners, which premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, and appears in the 2019 comedy drama film Before You Know It. She also created Eggshell: Fantasy & Fragility in America, a series of satirical vignettes where Tullock plays different characters, mostly suburban white women, who share perhaps a bit too much of themselves on social media.[2]

In 2022, Tullock began playing the role of Devon Scout-Hale in the Apple TV+ drama series Severance.

Personal life

Tullock is openly queer.[7]
