Janelle Washington (born November 2, 1983) is an American author, paper cut artist and illustrator of children's picture books. She is best known for her illustrations of the book Choosing Brave written by Angela Joy and published by Roaring Brook Press,[1][2] a Caldecott-honor winning picture book biography of the mother of Emmett Till and how she dealt with her son's death.[3][4][5]
