Irina (Ukrainian: Ірина) (?-990), was a Grand Princess of the Kiev by marriage to Vladimir the Great, Grand Prince of Kiev (r. 980–1015).[1]a Greek nun captured by the Grand Duke of Kyiv Svyatoslav Igorevich during a campaign in Bulgaria and presented by him, his son Yaropolk Svyatoslavich, as a concubine. After Vladimir killed Yaropolk, she forcibly became Vladimir’s wife.[2]
