International Islamic University of Indonesia (Indonesian: Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia, abbreviated as UIII) is an Islamic international public university located in the City of Depok, West Java, Indonesia. The university was initiated by the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo—through Presidential Regulation No. 57 of 2016. While the regulation for the university establishment was passed in 2016, the campus' construction works began in 2018.[2]

Curriculum

The curriculum for the master's and doctoral programs at UIII is meticulously structured to ensure graduates attain a profound mastery of their respective disciplines within the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework. It encompasses courses targeting the development of general, core, and supporting competencies necessary for obtaining graduate qualifications. General competencies are cultivated through diverse courses and scientific activities, constituting substantial material in the field of scholarship. The curriculum structure includes foundation, core, and elective courses, where foundational courses provide fundamental discipline understanding, core courses instill basic competencies, and electives allow students to tailor their expertise. Additionally, students must undertake a mandatory course in Wasathiyah Islam, aiming to enhance understanding of moderate Islamic values. The dynamic curriculum is regularly reviewed, taking into account the latest developments in scholarship, societal and stakeholder needs, and aligning with national and international standards. It prioritizes competency alignment across academic levels and considers the university's mandate to the faculty, formulating study program curricula based on explicit Program Learning Outcomes (PLO) aligned with the faculty and university's vision and mission.[3]
