Holliday is a city in Archer County, Texas, United States. It is part of the Wichita Falls, Texas Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,758 at the 2010 census.[5] The town is named for nearby Holliday Creek, named in turn for John Holliday, a member of a Republic of Texas military expedition.
Geography
Holliday is located in northern Archer County at 33°48′49″N 98°41′37″W / 33.81361°N 98.69361°W (33.813609, –98.693508),[6] 14 miles (23 km) southwest of downtown Wichita Falls in northern Texas. U.S. Routes 82 and 277 bypass the city on the northwest, leading northeast to Wichita Falls and southwest to Seymour.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.4 square miles (6.2 km2), all land.[5]

The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters. According to the Köppen climate classification system, Holliday has a humid subtropical climate, Cfa on climate maps.[11]
