Garčin is a village and a municipality in Brod-Posavina County, Croatia. The total population is 4,806, distributed in the following settlements:[3]

  • Bicko Selo, population 517
  • Garčin, population 911
  • Klokočevik, population 607
  • Sapci, population 504
  • Selna, population 308
  • Trnjani, population 786
  • Vrhovina, population 261
  • Zadubravlje, population 912

In the 2011 census, of the 4,806 inhabitants, 92% were Croats.[4]

Politics

Minority councils

Directly elected minority councils and representatives are tasked with consulting tasks for the local or regional authorities in which they are advocating for minority rights and interests, integration into public life and participation in the management of local affairs.[5] At the 2023 Croatian national minorities councils and representatives elections Serbs of Croatia fulfilled legal requirements to elect 10 members minority councils of the Municipality of Garčin but the elections were not held due to the lack of candidates.[6]
