Fartan-e Kohneh (Persian: فرطان كهنه, also Romanized as Farţān-e Kohneh)[3] is a village in Azari Rural District of the Central District of Esfarayen County, North Khorasan province, Iran.

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 1,749 in 403 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 2,197 people in 603 households.[5] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,351 people in 684 households; it was the largest village in its rural district.[2]
