Deerfield is an unincorporated community in Pennington County, in the U.S. state of South Dakota.[1]
History
A post office called Deerfield was established in 1892, and remained in operation until 1954.[2] The community was so named on account of the area being a favorite hunting ground of deer.[3]
Climate
Blind Park is a SNOTEL weather station 7.8 miles (12.6 km) northwest of Deerfield, at an altitude of 6890 ft (2100 m).[4]
